Screening of “Merchants of Doubt” in Boston on November 20

MOD-Image_v1_cropped_webWHRC will screen the award-winning documentary film “Merchants of Doubt” at District Hall in Boston on Friday, November 20. Light refreshments will be provided at 6:00 p.m. and the film will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. A brief Q & A will follow with WHRC President, Philip Duffy, who has first-hand experience with climate change deniers from his years serving at the White House, and Anne Kelly, Senior Director of the Policy Program at Ceres, Boston. Seats are limited and reservations are necessary. Register at events@whrc.org.

Inspired by the acclaimed book by Naomi Oreskes and Erik Conway, this 96-minute documentary takes audiences on a satirically comedic, yet illuminating ride into the heart of conjuring American spin. Filmmaker Robert Kenner lifts the curtain on a secretive group of highly charismatic, silver-tongued pundits-for-hire who present themselves in the media as scientific authorities – yet have the contrary aim of spreading maximum confusion about well-studied pubic threats ranging from toxic chemicals to pharmaceuticals to climate change.

The public is invited to attend this free event, which begins at 6:00 p.m. at District Hall, 75 Northern Ave, Boston, MA 02210. Space is limited and reservations are required. RSVP to events@whrc.org.
